Meet the Band

Doug Baughman

Born 1958 in West Central Pennsylvania . When I was 6 years old my dad took me to see Johnny Cash. I was impressed how he played the guitar. I got my first guitar that Christmas and the next month started taking lessons. I haven’t stopped playing since , I have played music publicly solo, in trio and 4 piece rock bands. I have spent many years playing in church praise and worship teams. I met Dan Zigich while we worked in the same department. I was informed that he played the guitar. I asked him if he wanted to jam and the rest is history. I have played with Jim Miller (drummer ) throughout the years in different combinations of worship bands , playing for fun and also did some recording. Rick was introduced to Dan and me via Jim that’s been a year and a half ago.

Dan Zigich

Dan spent his youth along the shores of Lake Superior. During the mid-sixties to mid-seventies, he played in rock bands throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. He completed his education at South Dakota School of Mines and worked as an exploration geologist for mining and petroleum companies. He spent the last 25 years of his career as a hydrogeologist cleaning up contaminated sites across the western United States. He met our singer/guitarist, Mr. Doug Baughman, at work and they played their first gig in 2018.

Jim Miller

Jim was born and raised in Watertown New York. He bought his first set of drums when he was 15 years old, earning money in the 1960’s from shoveling the deep snow during the winter and mowing a lot of grass in the summer with a push reel mower. He played for 3 years with a band called the Bismarks and played many venues of high school dances, military base NCO and officer clubs, as well as local television and battle of the band competitions. Military service interrupted his drumming, until he came to Colorado in 1982, and met Doug. Jim again started to play, but this time with Doug and a Christian band in a number of local churches. Doug, Jim and the group, 3GDG, produced a Christian a CD of original songs many written by Doug. Playing with the Vinyl Memories over the past years has been a real uplift to a retired Curmudgeon.
